Who are we?

 

Hayde Risk Consulting was established in 2007. It was set up by Syed Hussain, an enterprise risk management specialist and expert practitioner with experience in both the private and public sector. He has developed and honed his skills working with several large financial service organisations over the last fifteen years.

Syed's qualifications include a Masters in Insurance & Risk Management from a leading Business School in London. His accreditations include being a member of the Institute of Risk Management, and a member of the Institute of Operational Risk.

He has both knowledge and practical experience in Basel 2, Sarbanes Oxley, Solvency 2, Integrated Prudential Source Book, Turnbull, COSO, AS/NZ 2004, ISO 31000, BSI 31100 and the Treasury Orange Book. He has applied Prince 2 project management methodology in many of the projects that he has managed.

Over the years, Syed has applied his risk management knowledge to a number of major clients where he facilitated the following outcomes:

  • Introduced better effective risk governance frameworks to oversee risk activities
  • End to end operational risk assessment of key processes and services
  • Developed and integrated an effective assurance framework into key strategic processes 
  • Designed, rationalised and implemented key mitigating controls
  • Process mapping across a number of complex operational processes
  • Designed and implemented risk management frameworks based on best practice and regulatory requirements such as Basel 2 and SOX
  • Provided extensive risk training to all staff including the Board
  • Created risk management policies and strategies as blueprint for Board to adopt
  • Provided interim leadership for risk and governance
  • Established central risk management teams and risk partners to coordinate all risk processes
  • Facilitated risk workshops during strategic planning rounds to aid the Board to identify risks and opportunities
  • Conducted both qualitative and quantitative assessment of operational risks using modelling techniques
  • Project managed the implementation of Risk Management Information Systems that capture, analyse, aggregate and report risks up to Board level.
